Editorial Policy

This page sets out how Perth Garage Door Repair sources business information, writes the prose on listing, suburb and guide pages, verifies content, uses AI tools and handles corrections. It exists so that visitors, listed businesses and search engines can understand where the content comes from and what its limits are.

Listing inclusion criteria

A business is included in this directory if it meets all of the following:

  • Has an active Google Business Profile or an operating website
  • Is based in, or actively services, the Perth metro area or the Mandurah and Peel region (checked by address, coordinates and stated service area; regional Western Australia is excluded)
  • Repairs, services, installs or supplies garage doors, roller doors, sectional doors or garage door motors as a meaningful part of its business
  • Is not flagged as permanently closed on Google
  • Has at least one verifiable contact method (phone, website or email)

Businesses that only sell gates, roller shutters or unrelated building services are filtered out. Duplicates by phone number, website or Google place ID are removed.

Where listing data comes from

Each listing's factual data (name, address, phone, hours, website, Google rating and review count) is sourced from public business profiles, primarily Google Business Profile, through commercial data providers. We do not invent contact details or operating hours.

Each business's website is read, where one exists, for additional context: services offered, door and motor brands handled, service areas, certifications, warranties and any pricing the business itself publishes. Public Google reviews are used as input to the writing step below.

How prose is written

Listing pages carry a description, a short summary of why customers choose the business, themed review excerpts and a set of frequently asked questions. Suburb and hub pages carry a short local introduction. Guides carry longer articles on repair costs and common faults. All of this prose is drafted with Anthropic's Claude models and constrained as follows:

  • Source-grounded. The model is given the business's factual data, the text of its public reviews and its website extract, and instructed to ground every specific claim in that material.
  • Prices come from listed businesses. Dollar figures in our guides are drawn from pricing that Perth businesses in this directory publish on their own websites, are attributed only to the business that published them, and are dated. They are indicative, not quotes.
  • Australian English. Spelling and idiom are Australian (licence, organisation, colour). We use “garage door” and “roller door” as they are used in Western Australia.
  • No exact decimal ratings in prose. Where a business is highly rated the prose says so in words; the live rating appears separately on the page.
  • No named individuals. We do not attribute quotes or claims to named staff or reviewers.
  • Banned filler. Phrases that signal generic AI output are filtered out by post-processing scripts, and every store of generated text is audited before publishing.

Verification and limits

Where we say a business is known for fast response, handles same-day callouts or similar, that characterisation is grounded in the public Google reviews of that specific business, typically several reviews on the same theme. We use the editorial “we” voice common in directory writing; it reflects that we have read and synthesised the public evidence, not that we have interviewed or inspected each business.

We do not claim to have inspected premises, verified licences beyond what a business states publicly, or verified individual job outcomes. Regulatory references in our guides (for example Western Australia's builder-registration threshold or electrical-licensing rules) are checked against the relevant government source at the time of writing and dated; readers should confirm current requirements with Building and Energy (WA) before relying on them.

Update frequency

Listings are refreshed periodically, typically every three to six months, to pick up new reviews, ownership changes and businesses that have closed. The date of the most recent data refresh is carried in each listing's structured data. Guides carry a visible last-updated date.

Corrections

If you operate a business listed here and want to correct or update its information, or you are a customer who has found something inaccurate, send the correction via the contact form with:

  • The business name and the URL of the listing
  • What needs to change
  • For business owners: a verifiable identifier (an email at the business domain, a phone match, or owner verification through Google)

Corrections to factual details (phone, hours, address) are typically applied within 48 hours. Corrections to descriptive prose are applied at the next refresh unless the error is material, in which case it is fixed promptly.

Removals

Listed businesses can request removal at any time via the contact form, sent from a verifiable business email or with equivalent proof of identity. Removals are typically actioned within seven days.

Conflicts of interest

Some businesses pay for upgraded listings via our advertise page. Paid placement does not change a business's review data, rating or descriptive content; paid tiers affect placement priority and visual prominence only. Some businesses also pay for customer enquiries that are sent to them through our quote form; a customer's enquiry is routed to a partner business only where one covers that area, and the price of a repair is always agreed directly between the customer and the business. We disclose these commercial relationships here.
